I went into the U.S. Air Force immediately after my High School graduation (May 23,2003). I entered Basic Training on June 3,2003, and graduated as an Airman on July 21,2003. After the completion of BMT"Basic Military Training", I left for Tech School (Keesler AFB, MS), which is on the coast of Biloxi, MS. There I studied Information Management, "My Job". But now I am home, I had some trouble w/my knees and I was also Extremely Homesick! I guess I didn't realize everything I was putting myself through. The AF wasn't what I had expected, there are lots of things that make it tough mentally and physically. Being away from home was my hardest obsticle, maybe I should have waited until I was a little older? Who knows? Most of the men and women in the AF are alot older than 18, alot of them asked me "Why are you here? Your so young!" To be honest, I guess I didn't realize what I was doing, I thought I knew, but in reality I wasn't thinking about it until about a month before I was leaving for basic. My Junior and Senior year of high school is all that I had on my mind at the time. I should have done way more research, but hey, at least I chose the right branch of the military. AIR POWER/SPACE POWER AEF! I have gained alot from my experience in the AF in numerous ways, if only I would have enlisted in Guard/Reserve I would have definately stayed in the military. :(
